With air travel becoming easier and with the cheap flights, more and more people are vacationing in New York City. Thousands of people visit this amazing city every week and most stay at a Times Square hotel . Bargain flights to the United States have enabled even more people to visit New York than ever before. New York City is an ideal location for a romantic weekend, for sightseeing and for family vacations. There are literally hundreds of things to do to please every member of the family.

New York is the largest city in America and has been named the Big Apple because it’s a city that never sleeps due to it being an international business hub. The Financial District and the Theater District are the most popular tourist destination besides the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building. The museums alone are the best in the world, then there’s Central Park, Chinatown and Grand Central Station, which are all amazing to visit in and of themselves. The architecture is awe inspiring and will keep visitors amazed for hours as they wander around.

Tourism is a major industry for New York City and plays a huge part for its economy, and whatever the reason for visiting, they will want to come back again and again to see the attractions they missed and to re-visit some they fell in love with.

San Antonio River Walk

It’s certainly one of San Antonio’s biggest tourist draws, and also plays the host to events for the local community all throughout the year. There’s nothing quite like it anywhere, and the San Antonio River Walk takes advantage of a city in a way that few other attractions have been able to even approach. Taking some of the prime areas of San Antonio Real Estate as its surround, the River Walk is a chance to see the city in all its fascinating history and exciting present moment.

Here, people can visit the site of many of the most important moments in the history San Antonio, and see where the cultures of Europe and Latin America began to converge. St. Louis’ Echo Theatre

It is difficult to keep a theater company going, and this has been true pretty much every time and every place in the history of the world. It is a bit more difficult these days, however, where the art form that’s one of the most revered, and seriously under-funded, is caught in an endless struggle to survive. It’s harder still in the midwest, where the practical sensibility of the people in the place are not always supportive of the arts. It’s one of the first corners to get cut, and this is why the work of Echo Theatre is so very hopeful.

They’ve managed to stay modest without disappearing, having begun in 1997, and staying afloat through these difficult years. The mission is one that is both reasonable and necessary, and gives locals and travelers reasons to check out the Saint Louis hotels , and stay in town to see the work. Their work is process-oriented rather than the usual products of entertainment that are often seen on the stage. Process over product has been a point of contention among artists for some time, because it does make for great art, but it hard to sustain economically. In this case, there is nothing to sustain if the art is not great, so there is no choice but to do work that reflects the artists and community.

The Venetian is one of the better Las Vegas hotels , which offers gondola rides that travel along the canals running through the Grand Canal Shoppes and runs outside as well. The concept is great, take a gondola ride though the hotel while your gondolier serenades you makes for a good change of pace from all the gambling, walking, eating and people watching. Guests get a choice of making reservations for either the indoor or the outdoor ride. Guests are only allowed to make reservation the same day and the ride lasts 20 minutes.

The indoor gondola ride will navigate you through St. Marks Square, past the great shops and under the walking bridges. There’s no privacy, but you’ll enjoy the onlookers who smile and wave at you. The Outdoor option is most like the being in Venice, Italy, especially when the sun shines down or the wind blows on you, just be aware if the weather is not favorable, the outside gondola rides cannot be scheduled. Capo Crucet’s Miami

Miami has its share of artists and writers, certainly. It’s a very cosmopolitan place, with a deep connection to the world at large, and the art world here often branches into a realm of understanding that does border on the global. In part, that’s a result of the unique blend of people that call Miami home. The Cuban population, which has never been homogenous, is tied to two worlds, at the very least, the one here and the one over there, and at times the ties extend in limitless directions.

The great writers that come from Miami don’t have a lot in common except for a unique sense of compassion for the human experience. There are a few that have chosen the sense of exile and community as their theme, and joining these ranks is Jennine Capo Crucet .

Her collection of short stories, ” How to Leave Hialeah ,” put her on the literary map, and won her all kinds of acclaim from foundations and readers. It also saw her leaving Miami for Los Angeles, where she is now based. But her work is still inextricably connected to the local scene here. Union of the World in Miami

Every city has to have its own claim to fame. This might be the best citrus, the biggest ball of string, or the highest building. Some cities, like Miami, have so many claims to fame that it’s impossible to recount them all, and the innovative population here is always reaching for new heights. As of this year, Miami is also the home to the largest bronze sculpture of Greek mythology in the world. It was unveiled at the end of January, 2010, and is a work that’s 26 feet high and weighs over 17,000 pounds.

A sculpture like that is a little hard to ignore, and it’s made for seeing. It’s the work of Spanish artist Gines Serran , whose mix of visual art and anthropology have won awards and commissions for a few decades. This work is intended to be a kind of partner to the Statue of Liberty. Called the Union of the World, it’s inspired by the possibility of world peace, and is a remarkable thing to behold.
