Old vs New
December 18th, 2009
Well now look have far we have come from the old medieval days of smoky fireplaces to the new smokeless vent free gas fireplace. It is truly a pleasure to have a fire you your home now a days. There is not as much mess and pollution. It is funny when I go camping and am reminded of how smelly, smoky and dirty a good old fashioned fire pit really is. Have you ever experience a building on fire near you? You seem to smell of smoke for days. That smell would out do any perfume or cologne I bet. Always smelling of a fire. But now there are new horizons when it comes to having a fire burning in your home.
You don’t even need wood. There are electric and gas fireplaces in so many different styles. It used to be that were you lived would dictate the style you had in your home. Unless you were royalty, maybe then you would import artifacts from far away places to add to your collection in the castle. But for the common man, you only had a few choices more than likely based on the materials on hand and the person who was building or making the furniture in the area. With the world traveling that is going on by the common man today and the massive immigration that takes place to countries all over the world, the influences have spread.
Mediterranean and Italian styles would more than likely include some roman pillar looks to the style. Then you have the southwest or Mexican style with the fun colors. The tribal style of the African artifacts and patterns are also a great style to choose from. Of course, the English or French Country are also popular. If you live in an old Victorian home then you will have a lot of options to fit your decor. Then there is a simplicity of the new modern style of furnishings. What ever you choose, just be glad you can have a trouble free, smoke free fire, experience if you want.
Perfect Plants to Surround Your Hot Tub
November 23rd, 2009
Portable hot tubs turn every back yard into your own personal spa, your oasis from the hectic schedules of the workweek, and allow you time to relax and enjoy life. Where you install your new hot tub is entirely up to you. This is an opportunity to redesign your yard, to plant new trees and gardens, to lay tiles or build up around your spa seating areas. Many people choose to put their hot tubs in gazebos. This is a great option as the hot tub will be protected by the elements, as well as yourself being protected, allowing you to soak in the sun without worrying about sun burn, or to soak in the middle of an afternoon rain shower.
Another option, is to surround your gazebo with vines, using the sides as a trellis with the flowers and the plants winding through, creating harmony, color and your own natural aromatherapy garden, thus enhancing the relaxing effects of the time you spend in your hot tub. One of the most popular choices is the climbing rose bush. The scents of roses as the sky turns to dusk will be wonderful affected by the steam from the spa, and you will feel your tension simply melt away.
But there are so many other options to consider as well. Clematis are a great plant for climbing the sides of gazebos. The leaves are broad and large, and will provide shade on bright days, and the blooms are bright, and have a delicate and subtle fragrance, which some prefer to the stronger scents of the roses. Another great spring and summer blooming climbing vine is the jasmine, and in cooler environments they may bloom all winter long as well, mainly the confederate jasmine. One option is to plant multiple different jasmine plants and you will experience the blossoms all year round. These are just a few of the kinds of plants that work perfectly into the design of your back yard and they will brighten up your yard, and make your nightly soaks so very enjoyable.
Choosing a New Home With a Hot Tub Has Immediate Benefit
October 19th, 2009
Hot tubs can affect all many aspects of one’s lifestyle. Having one in a household’s backyard can contribute to many backyard parties and entertainment options. They can also be an extremely beneficial component to the owner’s sense of well being and even health. One recent homeowner, as well as her family and friends who were helping her to move, discovered on her first day in her new home one of the greatest benefits her new hot tub will provide.
Monique is a single woman who recently purchased a townhouse in Gilbert, Arizona. She was equally attracted to two different units in the home owner community and had a difficult time deciding between them. Some of her friends encouraged her to purchase the one that was in a slightly preferable location. However, Monique finally decided on the home that was right next to the community playground, and was actually one thousand dollars higher in cost. Typically, when considering the cost of a new home, a thousand dollars may not seem that important, but when placed in the context of a lesser attractive location it may become curious.
The reason Monique chose the home she did was based in part on some communications she had with choosehottubsdirect.com and the fact that her new home came with a hot tub in the backyard. She had always wanted one and after hearing how diverse in benefits they actually were, she chose the home that had one. And after a long and tedious day of moving and unpacking, Monique and her assistants enjoyed their first dip in the hot tub. Suddenly the friends that thought she should buy the other home changed their minds as their muscles relaxed in the pulsating water.
