Texas Hold em in New York

September 14th, 2009

New York is an incredible state with one of the most famous and respected world cities, which of course has the same name. The city offers some of the top museums, theatres and other cultural elements in the country, and even the world, while the state offers a diverse urban and rural dynamic with great scenery and various landmarks and attractions. And while there are a number of great things to chose from in the city, one of the most popular and exciting outside of the city is to stay at one of the New York casino hotels.
Casinos across the country have experienced an influx of activity in recent years, in part due to the rising popularity and mainstream visibility of certain poker games and poker stars. While poker players themselves used to be held in a questionable social status, today many of them are well loved national and international celebrities. Top players like Annie Duke, Phil Helmuth, Phil Ivey, and Daniel Negreanu are household names in many homes, and those are just a few among many. There is also a growing population of Internet poker players that are breaching their playing field and gaining names and reputations in live table tournaments.

While many of these stars can typically be found in the major casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Los Angeles and other major casino cities, casinos across the nation are filled with eager gamblers and card players who are ready to make their mark. Texas Hold em is one of the poker games that has grown enormously in popularity in recent years. It is similar to stud poker, though three cards from every hand in the pot are taken from a community pool that is spread out in the center of the table. The object of the game is to make the best five card poker hand possible out of a combination of the two cards you are dealt and three chosen from the five in the center. Generally this game uses blinds, or forced bets, instead of or in addition to anti’s, and these rotate around the table to ensure a fair participation by all players.

Complex Deterioration

September 14th, 2009

Our complex is getting old and we are beginning to have more maintenance issues than we really can keep up with. We are really are at the point of needing to overhaul the infrastructure and modernize this complex. Being in the neighborhood of 30 years old it isn’t exactly modern and keep full occupancy is becoming more and more of a challenge. Meeting we have been talking about how best to tackle this problem. Some business owners think we can do this with the association and management company as it is. I’m feeling like we meed to get a more aggressive and innovative thinking property management company engaged. I feel they would have ideas and angels we have not thought of. Possible solutions and avenues of resolution we have not taken and most of all fresh thinking and a new perspective to our situation. After all we see this this every day and know we all have a limited view due to the perspective. Doing some research I have come up with Transglobe property management as one possible management company to explore. Having a Facebook page certainly gave me the feeling they are modern in their approach to connecting to and reaching out toward clients and perspective clients.

Knowing we have a tough time with some of the stake holders here I know I’ll need to have the research done. A cost benefit analysis showing them how we will all benefit in the long run and let go of short sighted thinking. The future of our business depend on it. The location is great, traffic good, appearance not so good and the fact that we are loosing tenants as well isn’t helpful. Pulling together a presentation to propose Transglobe property management I’ve been able to pull some photos together, stats and information. We will see how it all goes at the next meeting.

Australia vacation in fine city of Melbourne

September 11th, 2009

Down under is Australia, way down under down under is the Australian capitol city of the state of Victoria, Melbourne. Melbourne is on the south eastern tip of the continent from here is the jumping off point ot the  infamous island state of Tazmania is off the shore of Victoria. Melbourne is built around a large bay giving the residences and visitors here plenty of beaches to access. We chose to stay a a boutique hotel Melbourne near the ocean. Wanting to have plenty of time spend at the beach we didn’t want to spend too much time getting there. A short walk from our room we would be strolling on the beach. There were a lot of nice places to walk in the area and catch beautiful views of the ocean. One evening we walked up the hill to enjoy the sunset. We spent several evening on Oliver’s hill here enjoying the sun set. After which we would get to seeing some of the night life offered here. Plenty of night clubs, bars, theaters and coffee houses to keep you entertained in the evening to the wee hours of the morning or even till sunrise which happened to us once while we were there. Victoria is home to nearly 5 million Australians and being as far south as it is ha a more temperate climate than some of the more northern cities. We did rent a car for a few days to take some drives in to the surrounding area and see the landscape we came upon a windmill, that was kind of unexpected. Getting out of the city a couple of times add a nice balance to the trip and gave us a perspective as to how life in southern Australia is lived.

New Year’s in Bangkok

September 9th, 2009

My wife wrote my itinerary in bold black felt pen, which clearly states that I was due to be in Bangkok, her hometown on New Years day before breakfast. She was already there staying at one of the luxury hotels in Bangkok Thailand, and not staying with family or friends, because she wanted to bring in the New Years with a bang and not a whimper. I would not intentionally forget this appointed trip and it was already the 30th. So, jumping off the Suphanburi passenger van along the Ratchadamri Road near Khao Sarn, I headed for the comfort of the hotel where she was staying.

See, we work in different cities, so any opportunity we get to be together, we do our utmost to make it an exquisite time and one to always remember. I do like to travel where ever she picks for us to met up, because I enjoy getting the chance to meet new people. When I arrived in Bangkok, I didn’t have to wait long for her to come by and pick me up. We, as always, kissed for a very long time, in the privacy of a car of course. She then drove us back to the hotel where she had already reserved a dinner table for us at the hotels restaurant and bar. The reservation included a whole New Years celebration package, which included a bottle of champagne and party favors. The entertainments was superb, but, the only celebrating I was interested in was being back in our hotel room. But, I did enjoy just being with my wife, watching her tell me how everything is with her, watching how she plays with her hair and I do miss just seeing her beautiful smile. I melts me everytime.

After the festivities at the restaurant, and my wife and I made our traditional New Years toast: to always, always keep it fresh and lively. We headed back to our room and properly brought in the New Years with the biggest fireworks two people can make.
