There are plenty of adventures to be had here in Singapore. Aside from the sightseeing and tours that are sure to put a smile on the face of our guests of all ages, there are some terrific cultural events here, with festivals and street fairs that go on all year round. There are also some spectacular artists making new work in Singapore. Because of its metropolitan sensibility, it draws some of the most fascinating minds in the region. In the realms of visual art and performance, many of these minds find their way to Danger Museum.
Danger Museum is a concept more than a physical space, and actually, the literal physical space is always shifting, as part of the artistic strategies. It began in London in 1998, with a collective of students who were attending Goldsmiths College, drawn by its reputation for encouraging alternative modes of thought. The group makes work together, and invites a stunning list of collaborators, to make an impressive body of work. There are a couple wings of the Danger Museum, and in Singapore, it’s headed by Tien Wei Woon. The work is as elusive as the place itself, always changing, and always challenging, but also entirely mysterious and captivating.
